“Maybe you’ll meet the woman you are going to marry today,” a friend of Steve’s joked as they walked along the golfing green at a benefit. Steve laughed and shook his head. He had other things to think about. Being the Assistant Minority Representative in the MN house of Representative brought enough to his plate, and it was not the day that he was going to meet “the one”. Especially at a golfing benefit.
Well, what did he know? Men can sometimes be clueless in matters of intuition, as was proved that day. A cheerful laugh, a romantic glance across the course, a healthy dose of shameless flirting, and Steve’s fate was sealed by the day’s end. Photography by Karen Feder Photography.
He asked her out for a drink after the benefit and she agreed. The two quickly realized that they had a lot in common. They dated for a few years, and one night Steve brought Leia out on the deck of their home. Watching the sunset over the city, he proposed.
Their January wedding day was beautiful! Orange, pink, red, black and white were woven throughout the the day as was lots of laughter and joy.
Bridal Gown & Accessories
Leia was a bride with classic tastes, but she wasn’t afraid to make a statement with bold colors. Her Vera Wang mermaid style dress was amped up by a black flower fascinator sash and red shoes.
The Ceremony was held at the beautiful Temple Israel, and the reception followed at Windows on Minnesota.
Temple Wedding & Chuppah
Yellow Tree of Life Ketubah
Jewish Wedding Reception
With a temple so beautiful, only a simple decor is needed.
The bright colors carried through the reception decor, and guests were treated to a decadent dessert bar.
Everyone celebrates the couple with the chair lift and Hora.
Much thanks to Leia and Steve for sharing their day. Mazel Tov!
