You will not believe this transformation! When you have a dad with a fabulous collection of classic cars and a son with a passion for film making, you’ve got the beginnings of one amazing bar mitzvah! Father and son put their heads together and came up with a movie premiere-themed bar mitzvah that oozed with real-deal Hollywood glamour.
Event planner Melisa from The Event of a Lifetime was called in to transform the clients’ garage and basement into their vision of a Hollywood event. She had plenty to work with – including a 5 million dollar vintage classic car. Even the most utilitarian space can be converted to a dazzling affair in the hands of the right event designer.
Before: This garage was, well… just a garage
After: Trendy VIP Bar Mitzvah Lounge
Now this garage is a lounge the likes of a sophisticated night spot. The plain walls are hidden behind a soft white pipe and drape with cool, blue-green uplighting. Satin lounges are accented with plush pillows. The pillows are customized with the bar mitvah’s initials and event date. Blue, white and silver is the perfect color palette for this VIP lounge.
The basement got a similar treatment. Before it was a typical room.
The kids got off the bus at the foot of their long driveway and made their way up the 250 foot red carpet. Along the way, paparazzi snapped their pictures and yelled out to them “Who are you wearing?”, “Over here!”, “Angie – where’s Brad?”… When they reached the top of the driveway, there were bouncers that made sure their names were on the VIP list.
The classic car also inspired these Andy Warhol-like backdrops which featured the bar mitzvah boy’s favorite car with his initials and bar mitzvah date as the license plate. Guests had their pictures in front of these backdrops, and then by millions of dollars worth of cars. Movie Theme Sign-In BoardThe sign in board featured the guest of honor posing in the car. When do you think Dad will let him actually drive it?
Thanks to Melisa for sharing this incredible bar mitzvah transformation!
