Eden is a fun spunky girl who knows what she wants, and for her bat mitzvah she wanted an unforgettable night for all her friends to enjoy. Her name and love of nature and animals made the right theme all too obvious – a night in “The Garden of Eden”. Photography by A Magic Moment.
Eden’s Bat Mitzvah was held on February 4, her actual birthday and also her grandmother’s yarzheit. The ceremony was at the Congregation of Reform Judaism. The Garden of Eden themed party was at The Winter Park Racquet Club.
The adult seating area made a beautiful bold statement with purple LED centerpieces. Guests encountered trees, snakes and apples throughout the rest of the venue, creatively showcasing the garden and animal theme.

Eden’s Mitzvah Project
In addition to being a lot of fun, Eden is also a sensitive and compassionate young woman. Her mitzvah project was a very personal one. You’d never know it to look at her pretty face, but she was born with a cleft palette. This is easily fixed in an advanced nation like the U.S., but many children are not so fortunate. Eden went above and beyond to reach out and help. Her mother explains:
“Eden was born with a cleft lip that was easily corrected as a newborn. When she realized many children in third world countries are forced to live with unrepaired clefts, she wanted to help them. After researching the issue, she found out about The Smile Train, which helps raise money for children to have this simple surgery. She reached out to family and friends in support of this charity by starting a website. She also donated part of her Bat Mitzvah gift money to this cause.”
This party was chock full of entertainment. The entertainer, Neikko Chin, had plenty of surprises in store such as a cirque performers dressed in themed costumes and a red carpet at the entrance that ended with a live woman holding a tray of apple drinks for the guests! A Taylor Swift look alike performed Eden’s favorite song.
In addition to capturing it all, photographer David Basher added excitement to the evening by setting up a special interactive touch screen called Photo Mingle. The guests loved using it to post photos and messages.
Eden’s Mom leaves us with a bit of advice:
“Remember that it is about celebrating the achievement of becoming a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and focus on the one who the day is about. Also, make sure you have a great photographer so you can relax and enjoy the moment and relive it later!”
Mazel Tov to Eden and her family! Thank you for sharing your amazing bat mitzvah with us!.
