We are excited to have had the chance to speak with Stacy Lawrence, The Party Expert and founder of Make an Impression. Make an Impression is a boutique wedding, bat & bar mitzvah and event company with a store located in Northern New Jersey. In addition to custom invitations that range from top of the line custom to smartly priced, Make an Impression offers favors, gifts, seating charts, menus, programs, and so much more. Stacy can also provide day of wedding or party coordination with an unsurpassed amount of industry expertise to make sure vendors are doing exactly what they need to do so you can truly enjoy every moment of your special day.
I have lived inside this industry for 25 years. I owned an entertainment company and photography studio. My husband had a complimenting company that did floral design, invitations and favors. So I am intimately involved with so many parts of the planning process as an insider which empowers to help my clients both in the selection stage and making sure on the day of the party they are doing their job.
What is your store like?
It is really more of showroom. While it is a retail store, it is only open by appointment but I will take appointments at 9:00 at night or on Sundays, times that stores are not open. The store is small and cozy but is loaded with samples of invitations, favors, and theme centerpieces. It is literally a palette for a client to plan their entire event at.
What are you most proud of?
If you look at my profile on Google and Yahoo you will see loads of 5 star reviews. Any business can choose what testimonials to post on their site and of course they’ll take the ones that make them look great. Another accomplishment I am proud of, are the planning articles I have written for various magazines readers can access from my site and being featured in USA Today along with celebrity party planner David Tutera in a wedding advice column.
What can clients expect of you?
I am totally accessible to my clients and create a planning experience filled with creativity, passion and fun. I make it fun for the kids also if they get involved in selecting things for their Bar/Bat Mitzvahs. I can’t help but get lost in the joy of planning the party and connecting with my clients. My husband always tells me that I give all my patience to my clients. I did plan my children’s own Bar and Bat mitzvahs with some unique slants that I allowed my clients to use for their own parties. I am well versed in Judaism (actually have a son interested in become a rabbi) and really make weddings and Bar/Bat Mitzvahs where one participant is not of the Jewish faith very comfortable and confident.
