Emma’s Art Theme Bat Mitzvah Party

Art Theme Bat Mitzvah Party
Most teens hope to choose a bar or bat mitzvah theme that reflects their personality and interests.  Sometimes this is easy and sometimes…not so much.  In Emma’s case, having an art-themed bat mitzvah was a perfect fit. According to Emma’s mom Melissa, “Emma has always been a creative soul.  She began painting when she was two years old in mommy-and-me classes.  She has continued to paint, draw and doodle, and has recently started drawing manga cartoons.  She has truly blossomed from a shy child into an imaginative, artistic teenager.”

Art Theme Bat Mitzvah CeilingEmma’s talent and creativity was the inspiration for her art-themed bat mitzvah, which took place on March 2, 2013 at Temple Beth Abraham in Westchester, NY.  The family worked with Mizrahi Centerpieces to turn the event space into an brightly-colored art gallery.  Inspired by Emma’s artwork, Mizrahi Centerpieces super-sized the pieces, made them 3-dimensional, and bordered them with fun and whimsical frames.

The art theme was used throughout the event.  The kippahs were a watercolor-design in bright colors.

Mitzvah Project

For her mitzvah project, Emma chose to work with the Maria Fareri Children’s Hospital.  She created a program, Kidz Krafts with a Cauze.  In this program, Emma provided items for “Activity Kits” that other children assembled. The activity kits were then given to patients so they and their families can keep busy and have fun during their hospital stay.

Mitzvah Mom Advice: “I would advise mitzvah families to hire people with whom they are really comfortable when planning for their event.  Also, when interviewing vendors, moms and dads should make sure the vendor talks to and gets to know the child.  Our experience was made much better because our MC Rae Rae, our photographer Ray, and our décor designer Rob, really listened to what Emma wanted and they understood what things were and were not her style.”

Mazel Tov to Emma and her family!  Thanks to you and Mizrahi Centerpieces for sharing your special, creative and beautiful day with us.
