Benjie and Megan met on a teen tour in Israel before they were old enough to drive. Now, both established adults, they became husband and wife in a Jewish wedding ceremony on Tulum, Mexico’s breathtaking beachfront. Infused with personal touches and island ambiance, this wedding was truly (in the words of the bride’s aunt) paradise personified. Photography by Julie Saad Photography.
Both avid travelers, the couple wanted their wedding to be a casual getaway with close friends and family…and were also hoping for great food and tequila. Needless to say Tulum fit the bill!
Megan’s gown was as relaxed as the setting, but its gold sash added the pop of dazzle every bride needs. Her groom had the same island elegance, with a light hued suit and cuffed pants.
In honor of Megan’s South African family, who could not attend their wedding, she made sure to include the country’s national flower in her bouquets. The King Protea arrangements were bright, beautiful compliments to the tropical setting.
The couple’s entire look was cohesive, cleverly using brightly colored flowers in Megan’s braided up-do and Benjie’s boutonniere.
The preciousness didn’t end with the bride’s hair. These flower girls’ floral crowns were adorably island-esque.
Jewish Wedding Ceremony & Chuppah
Megan and Benjie’s chuppah was breezy and light, defining beach elegance. Even more special than its design were its creators; the couple’s friend made them their wedding chuppah as a gift.
Having a destination wedding doesn’t mean leaving your roots at home. Megan and Benjie included the traditional chair lift and Seven Blessings in their Jewish Ceremony.
From the aisle décor to the table settings, these wedding aesthetics radiated paradise through and through. Simple and thoughtful, every detail was precisely right.
Games aren’t just for kid parties! A piñata was the perfect addition of color and excitement for this Mexican wedding.
When Megan walked down the aisle to Wildflowers by Tom Petty, one friend sang and another played guitar. For the rest of the night, the couple and their guests enjoyed this authentic beach-side band.
Megan and Benjie’s wedding was full of meaningful personal touches, but none as adorable as their puppy & couple cake topper!
What a serenely romantic wedding! The entire affair was paradise come to life and we are so happy to have been included. Mazel Tov to the beautiful couple!
