Flowers & Centerpieces
Beneath a lovely living roof of native grasses and wildflowers, the sinuous floor-to-ceiling glass walls look out onto the Garden’s Cherry Esplanade, as well as an outdoor terrace, offering an intimate and luxurious space.
The Bat Mitzvah girl, Isabel, who grew up across the street, had always dreamed of a party in the Garden. She loves birds as much as flowers, and Alexandra Partow Events developed a Spring theme that was present throughout the event. Little decorative birds were sprinkled throughout the tall arrangements of cherry blossoms and low, lush centerpieces of coral peonies, pale roses and spring flowers designed by Seaport Flowers.
The teens’ table was long and sprinkled with confetti. Isabel loves mason jars, so they were used on her table to hold low groupings of colorful flowers.
Spring-inspired letterpress custom invitations designed by A Lion in the Sun featured pink branches and birds.
An escort card table featuring tiny nests filled with blue Jordan almonds was a perfect way to show guests to their seats.
Bat Mitzvah Dress
Springtime flowers even inspired the Bat Mitzvah girl’s dress!
Bat Mitzvah Party
During cocktails, Jeremy Udden’s jazz trio played while the kids were entertained by an amazing strolling magician. The famous Candyman, flown in from Los Angeles, fashioned colorful oversized candy sculptures of animals, flowers or figures, as requested, right before your eyes.
An important interest of the Bat Mitzvah girl is photography so her photographs were prominently displayed during cocktails. “I want the guests to know something more about the Bar or Bat Mitzvah,” said Alexandra Partow. “We had a special frame made to show Isabel’s work and it was a hit! After the party, she hung it in her room.”
Inside the Atrium, friends and family were treated to a three course lunch featuring a choice of fresh roasted halibut or organic chicken prepared by chefs from Patina Restaurant Group.
The weather was perfect and the trees were in blossom as guests enjoyed an open bar and signature drinks on the terrace – Isabel’s Ginger Bramble and Lavender Lemonade.
Cake & Dessert
Guest enjoyed dancing and a video montage, followed by candle lighting and a three-tiered devil’s food mocha-filled cake. The cake was decorated with fresh flowers and topped with a cake banner handmade by Alexandra.
With a background in creating events for museums, Alexandra Partow’s eye for unusually beautiful details was apparent at this supremely sweet and joyous Mitzvah celebration.
