There are few things as automatically cool as surfing and playing the guitar, so a Bar Mitzvah incorporating both had to be the epitome of awesome!

Max celebrated his special day at Temple Beth Torah in Melville, Long Island, with renowned in-house Kosher caterer Gala Event and Food Artistry. Every inch of the space celebrated the guest of honor and showcased his interests, beginning with the larger-than-life photos at the entrance to the party.
A surfboard entrance was a cool way to kick-off the festivities.
Keeping with the surfing theme, a retro surfboard made the perfect sign in board.
According to Max’s mom Quyen, “Gayle, and her entire staff at Gala Event and Food Artistry were exceptional. They were extremely detail oriented and treated us like family. Every appetizer and entree was delicious.” The mouth-watering Kosher menu items included Chicken Margarita Shooters, a Peter Luger Steak Station, a Party Ball Station (including eggplant, meat and chicken balls served with fun condiments), Candy Cane Martinis, and more!
The family was so thrilled with the event and the quality of service that they just booked their son Jack’s bar mitzvah at Temple Beth Torah as well!
Bar Mitzvah Logo
Max’s father Jonathan, who does custom design and printing for a living as the President of PPD&G, designed and created most of the centerpieces and table cloths with the event’s “Rock the Wave” logo. PPD&G also produced custom decor and giveaways for the party.
Mom’s dress was a perfect fit with the overall feeling and vibe of the night. Melony Mazzeo dressed her, offering a great one-on-one shopping experience.
Centerpieces & Decor
The centerpieces lit up and slowly spun around on the tables for a really eye-catching detail!
The lounge area was just as chic as the centerpieces, decorated with white couches and cool photos of the bar mitzvah boy.
Silken white fabric draped over the space, creating an airy separation from the rest of the party.
For his Mitzvah Project, Max was inspired by his passion for sneakers. He found an organization called Dornbecher Freestyle, and is donating a portion of his gifts to Dornbecher Hospital – an organization that partnered with Nike’s top creative talent to give young patients an opportunity to design their own sneakers. Max has been restoring, buying and selling shoes for over a year in order to raise money on his own to donate to Dornbecher. He plans to continue with this venture, and is currently creating a sneaker cleaning kit.
The party never stopped, with Maxx Events Entertainment bringing break dancers, percussionists, and plenty of fun!
Laughs and tears flowed during the montage and speeches.
The candle lighting reflected the modern evening motif, with crystal vases holding tea lights for a chic effect.
In addition to tons of giveaways guests received on the dance floor, Max’s friends took home custom hoodies, t-shirts and drawstring bags, created by PPD&G, featuring the “Rock The Wave” theme. Gala Event and Food Artistry also had some fun surprises in store, including snow cones for guests to enjoy on the way out.
Max’s entire party was cool, modern, and totally him. We are so happy to have been a part of it! Mazel Tov to his entire family!
