Football season kicks off this week, making it the perfect time to share this creative event. Melisa Imberman of The Event of a Lifetime planned a great bar mitzvah with a fresh take on a football theme. The party was inspired by a NY Giants tailgate. Nearly every aspect of the party was reminiscent of a tailgate from the décor to the food.
The bar mitzvah was held at the Temple Beth-El of Northern Westchester. The Event of a Lifetime did some really creative branding to transform the venue into a football tailgate party. The Giants logo was converted to the bar mitzvah boy’s last name (Janis), the NY logo was changed to his initials (MJ), and luckily his name was Matthew so it was easy to change Metlife Stadium to Mattlife.
The family wore coordinating colors and fabrics, while showcasing their individual personalities.Escort TableA mock football stadium held mini jerseys that served as place cards.
The party started with an entrance video. The last scene of the video was Matthew’s friends waving rally towels that said Mattlife. Matthew then ran into the room in his custom Giants shirt.
Everyone at the party began waving the rally towels that they were given.
Bar Mitzvah Lounge
The kids’ lounge was a Giants VIP tailgate area with turf & branded canopies, portable sports chairs and personalized pillows.
Centerpieces & Decor
Every aspect of the decor was creatively designed and executed.
For entertainment, there were virtual reality photos with football players, a football version of pop-a-shot and Giants Cornhole. The dance floor was filled with energy.
Custom dance floor socks were a hit with party goers. Guests could take photos inside Metlife Stadium with the help of a green screen photo booth.
At the end of the Matthew’s montage some of his family members wished him well and then much to Matthew’s surprise so did his idol Eli Manning. You can check that out here!
Mazel tov to Matthew and his family. Thank you for the opportunity to share your special day!
