Planning a child’s bar or bat mitzvah should be fun but can also be a big challenge. As a bar/bat mitzvah professional, Stephanie of Cutie Patootie Creations used her expertise and experience to plan and design her son’s perfect mitzvah celebration. The results are spectacular – and her son Jack couldn’t have been happier!
Stephanie describes her son Jack as a sweet, warm, kind, sensitive young man who took his bar mitzvah very very seriously. It was a very emotional service and the torah portion Jack read was especially meaningful to him and the person he is and strives to excel as. An especially touching and commemorative part was Jack’s sharing his Bar Mitzvah day with a little 9 year old boy who was killed in the Holocaust through a program called “Remember Us”.
SPORTS THEMES & GLOWING COLORS
Jack is passionate about wrestling and lacrosse. Choosing between his two favorite sports was not possible, so Stephanie designed centerpieces and decor accents that would showcase each. For example, each table had a centerpiece featuring one of the top colleges for lacrosse or wrestling. Navy blue, Jack’s favorite color, and lime green were the theme colors throughout the event – including the lighting, room decor and favors. And since Jack also made it clear that he wanted everything to glow, navy blue and lime green were a great combination!
Taking all of his wishes and creating a cohesive, classy but yet super fun event was definitely a work in progress for Stephanie up until the very end . She admits that she had been planning and designing his Bar Mitzvah for over two years.
But as you can see from the photos – Mission Accomplished!
Stephanie owner of Cutie Patootie Creations created a few variations of the wrestling and lacrosse logos and featured them throughout the decor at the party including oversized signage, lampshade centerpieces and team roster table seating.
Other highlights included glow centerpieces with college logos,
A Lacrosse themed ice sculpture for candle lighting,
a custom sign in pillow and sign in chair,
the candy bar sign,
Custom bottle labels using Jack’s logo and stadium cups for candy bar,
and custom koozies for adults.
LOVIN’ SPORTS BUT IT’S DANCE TIME NOW
The DJ Station area showcased Jack’s logo in oversized signage accented with navy and lime green lighting. Just the right combo for a lot of fun and dancing for all!

MORE THAN JUST FUN AND GAMES!
In Jack’s Torah portion Moses is speaking to the people of Israel. Moses is teaching the Israelites how to maintain a healthy and fair society with governance and rules for everyone to follow. The main points of Jack’s Torah portion focused on the idea that we must treat each other with respect. It is a simple idea that we are taught at a young age, but sometimes need to be reminded as we become teens and adults. This torah portion was very in sync with Jack’s core values as he has experienced things such as bullying and is always one who stands up for others and for what he feels is right.
Jack is a cook and while attending Johnson and Wales summer culinary program in Charlotte, he cooked meals for families who stay at the Ronald McDonald House while in Charlotte for medical treatment.
Looking back on the weekend, Stephanie and her family agree that it was perfect. She especially appreciates that their family and friends came from near and far to celebrate Jack special day.
We would like to thank Stephanie and her family for sharing their special celebration with us.
