5 Steps to The Perfect Mitzvah Project for Your Bar/Bat Mitzvah Child
Your child is approaching Bar/Bat Mitzvah age and celebrations are in order! In addition to party planning and learning religious ritual, many synagogues require students to complete volunteer service in the form of a Mitzvah Project. Connecting this activity to your child’s interests can turn the Mitzvah Project into one of the most meaningful and fulfilling aspects of the process!
Here are some helpful steps for finding the perfect Mitzvah Project that will commemorate his or her transition into adulthood and engage your child’s passions too.
Brainstorm: Sit down with your child to see what it is this project means to him/her. With this maturing age, you can ask questions like “What are you passionate about?” and “How do you think you can make a difference?” Think about the different types of community service, including volunteer work, fundraising, and/or organizing a charitable drive or initiative. Finding something that sparks an interest will inspire them to get involved.

When it comes to planning an event, whether it be a Jewish wedding, bat/bar mitzvah, Sweet 16 or party, it can be easy to overlook the small stuff. No one forgets that big centerpiece sitting in the middle of the table, but what about the rest of the space? Nothing dials down the décor like neglected areas. This is where you want to work smarter, not harder. You want something easy and plentiful. It doesn’t get any more plentiful (and affordable) than water. You’d be amazed by what you can create when you freeze the stuff. Ice décor can be that unexpected touch that gets your guests talking.
From planning the party to preserving the memories, state-of-the-art trends in technology have made a huge impact on bar and bat mitzvah celebrations. With the ever-evolving capabilities of smartphone apps, new entertainment options and social media, more and more teens are incorporating high-tech twists to their parties. These new technologies provide endless opportunities to excite guests and create unforgettable experiences.
Choosing the right party favor for a bar/bat mitzvah is no easy feat. You want to give something memorable and unique that won’t be tossed into the trash within a few days. Plus, there’s a constant stress of spending too much money only to find out it’s something the kids won’t like or use. Don’t fret about party favors anymore! Make a customized LED shirt to give out at your upcoming bar/bat mitzvah.

Booking your venue and vendors is only part of the event planning process. Coordinating the logistics and directing the execution of those details are what truly make your vision a reality. Having a day-of coordinator allows for you, your friends, and your family to relax and fully enjoy the event, while someone else is in charge of ensuring it is the day you expected.
Unlike a full service event planner, a “day-of” coordinator is available for families and couples who want to do most of the planning themselves, but need someone in the months leading up to and on the day of their event to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Here are the top 4 tasks a day-of coordinator will handle, so you won’t have to: READ MORE ......→
Many people are familiar with the book “Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus” that talks about the differences between men and women. In the wedding arena, bridesmaids will follow the bride to the moon and back to support her and enjoy the whole process of selecting dresses. Many grooms, while enthused, still want to make the process as simple as possible.
Unfortunately, renting at the traditional tuxedo store is often not a simple process. Here are some obstacles: READ MORE ......→
