18 is a spiritual number in the Jewish culture. Gifts are often given in multiples of 18, symbolizing the gift of life and good luck. In 2013, the number 18 became even more significant for my husband Jeff and me, representing the unforgettable day our daughter Liya was born, on October 18.
To make Liya’s first birthday celebration even more special and meaningful, we decided to combine her party with her Jewish baby naming ceremony. Being the superstitious Jew that I am, we never had a baby shower, so this event was a way to FINALLY celebrate our beautiful baby girl with all of our loved ones.
