Written by Andrea Miller – Flashion Statement

Choosing the right party favor for a bar/bat mitzvah is no easy feat. You want to give something memorable and unique that won’t be tossed into the trash within a few days. Plus, there’s a constant stress of spending too much money only to find out it’s something the kids won’t like or use. Don’t fret about party favors anymore! Make a customized LED shirt to give out at your upcoming bar/bat mitzvah.

Flashion Statement T-shirt

Flashion Statement creates awesome light-up shirts that use a small hidden battery pack to animate the design. Simply insert 2 AA or 2 AAA batteries, flip the switch, and amaze everyone! The shirts are easy to wear, easy to wash, and are guaranteed to make your bar/bat mitzvah stand out.

Mitzvah Project – Hoods That Help

Melisa Imberman from The Event of a Lifetime shared a great community service project from a local teen.

Sarah is collecting sweatshirts to donate, including bar & bat mitzvah sweatshirts, school, camp and team sweatshirts that kids have outgrown or no longer wear.

The organization is called Hoods that Help and she will be donating to different organizations throughout the year. The first organization Hoods That Help will be collecting for is “Person to Person” in Darien, Connecticut.

She has put a drop box at a local store, Shuppee in the Village Yard in Chappaqua, and Melisa is happy to collect them as well and get them to her.

If you’d like more information, you can contact me or Sarah at

We can’t think of a better way to make good use of all those old clothes!
