Yelena is a self-proclaimed foodie, so it was fitting when Derek proposed on the dessert menu of a Top Chef-contestant run restaurant! The two celebrated their Jewish wedding filled with taste and glamour, aptly held at the Tremont Grand Historic Venue in Baltimore, Maryland. Both are Jewish and Yelena is of Ukrainian descent, so it was important to the couple to include elements from their faith and culture in their big day! Thanks to Bradley Images for the sneak peak!
What do a vintage salvage store, a bitter Chicago polar vortex and eight years of romance come together to make? They all add up to Lauren and Ilya’s completely charming and totally intimate interfaith Jewish wedding! Photographer Credit: Michael Novo Photography

One of the most beautiful moments of any wedding is the time when the bride and groom are officially pronounced husband and wife. For Jewish couples, this takes place under a chuppah (huppah), or wedding canopy. Though the inclusion of a chuppah is traditional, the chuppah itself can be anything but! In an age of endless possibilities, choosing a chuppah is no exception. Let your personality and interests guide you to a chuppah that is uniquely yours!

Color is everywhere, and no one knows color better than the color experts at Pantone. Hot off the heels of Fashion Week, Pantone announced the top colors for Spring 2015. We saw a collection of overall soft hues – a mix of cool and warm, but all subtle. The top 10 color collection is meant to be minimalistic, going by the name “En Plein Air,” a French expression translating to “in the open air.” The entire palate confirms the notion that color is a lifestyle, and isn’t merely just for fashion or home decor, but every aspect of a person’s life…including weddings and events!
Dr. Richard Egerman and his beautiful wife Michelle are both medical professionals and in a true act of bashert, met and fell in love while on the job! The two married at the Grand Floridian Suite in an intimate ceremony officiated by Rabbi Dr. Richard M Cowin, and plan to celebrate again in January of the new year! Lotus Eyes Photography got some beautiful shots of the happy couple!
There’s no denying that we’re in the midst of an exciting time in marriage equality. Almost half of the states in the U.S. as well as 16 countries now recognize same-sex marriage. Gay and lesbian couples who have waited years to tie the knot are now doing so, making same-sex weddings a burgeoning market. The only problem is, many of the traditions that surround a typical wedding are outdated and don’t work for many couples, both same-sex and heterosexual. One of the most visible aspects of this is undoubtedly the wedding photography.
That’s why Kathryn Hamm, president of GayWeddings.com and a same-sex wedding pioneer, and Thea Dodds, an award-winning wedding photographer and founder of Authentic Eye Photography, have teamed up to create The New Art of Capturing Love, a first-of-its-kind guide to photographing same-sex engagements and weddings.
Rachel and Garry got engaged in true fairy tale fashion. Garry popped the question on New Year’s Eve during the countdown just before the clock struck midnight. After 10 years of friendship that turned into true love, it was the icing on the cake to an amazing relationship. Before the wedding that is! The couple’s contemporary Jewish wedding at the Japanese Gardens in California was as fun as it was breathtaking. A huge thank you to William Innes Photography for getting this gorgeous day on film.
