Temple Sinai is a reform congregation serving the spiritual and community needs of the Jewish community in the Greater Hartford area. We continue to be a growing, vibrant congregation offering a responsive environment for spiritual needs, educational growth, and social interaction. Today, over 400 families and individuals from 25 communities comprise our membership: families with young children at home, single-parent families, the newly married, empty nesters, retirees, and single adults. We welcome the membership of intermarried couples, nontraditional families, and those who want to better understand and participate in Jewish life.

Our vision:

Temple Sinai is a caring spiritual community, rooted in Reform Jewish practice and values. Acceptance, respect, and connection are at the foundation of our inclusive congregation. We embrace the rich diversity of race, ethnicity and sexual orientation of our members and fully welcome our interfaith families.

Recent Renovations:
Temple Sinai completed a renovation of the Temple's main building in 2004. The sanctuary floor was raised to make it level with the social hall, making the sanctuary and bima handicapped-accessible. The bima was also widened. A new office area and multipurpose rooms were added, and the restrooms were relocated and vastly expanded.
The most striking features of the new sanctuary are the skylight, which runs its full length, and the large windows over the ark. Windows along the southern wall of the sanctuary visually open it to the lobby. This was accomplished while preserving the original roofline and interior timbers. The pews have been replaced with comfortable, flexible seating.
